My job:
I'm serving a notice to leave my job as Assistant Librarian at
Mangaung Library in Rocklands. Before I joined MLM I was working for US government at the department of Public Affairs in
Johannesburg as an Information Technician. I started in that job in October 2006.
I was previously working for University of Johannesburg where I was a Snr. Library Assistant.
I was in charge of the School of Tourism and Hospitality library, since I started there in 2002 while it was called Technikon
Witwatersrand. I was only having 5 months experience when I was appointed to lead this library, at first I
didn't believe I would change it the way it is now but through hard work and a help from my colleagues, it's ended up being
one of the most updated with the latest sources of information compared to other university libraries and I'm still
proud of that.
I used to enjoy working in this campus, the students,
lecturers, admin staff and support staff "aunties" were very kind to me."not mentioning the lunch time" angeke ngiyikhohlwe
remember it was a hotel school!!!. How can I forget one senior "SPOOKIE" who used to be like pain in the back, she couldn't
stand me and I never understood why vele bekanje lo Gogo? She was hating me with passion.

Taking a break from work
I was with my collegues above Julius and below Tebogo.
In that library I was
in charge of everything, I mean from the circulation of materials, shelving, collection development and literature searches.
That 's a lot of work in an academic library you must believe me. As I was working or interacting with other
campuses sometimes I used to come across with frustrating situations where sometimes I felt I can punch someone
in the face and lucky them ! I did anger management and I'm always trying to approach my work in a professional manner.
